How does the sleep study work?
Once you’ve filled in your online forms and made your booking, we will send the kit to you ready for the day you have chosen. You will set up the equipment according to the instructions we provide. The next day, you just have to pack the kit back into the box, and post it back to us using the provided prepaid Australia Post label.
Do I need to see a GP to get a referral?
We can organise a referral for you as part of the background paperwork we do prior to your sleep study. You can also upload your own GP referral if you already have one or choose to do so.
Why can’t I get my own GP referral?
You can organise your own GP referral if you choose to.
However, you can avoid sitting in a bulk-billing GP’s waiting room for two hours to get a piece of paper signed, if you use our pathway to organise a referral on your behalf.
My dentist has referred me for this study. Why do I need a GP referral as well?
Whilst it’s normal for a dentist to recommend that you have a sleep study, it’s only a recommendation. Unfortunately, Medicare will not accept a dentist’s referral for MBS item 12250.
We can organise a referral for you as part of the background paperwork we do prior to your sleep study.
Alternatively, you can see your own GP to obtain a referral.
How much does a sleep study cost?
If you meet Medicare’s eligibility criteria, you only have to pay $199 out of pocket and Medicare covers the rest. The $199 is non-refundable by Medicare or health funds.
Our fees are cheaper than other services who offer at-home sleep studies. Other services charge $250 or more out of pocket.
Does the kit have to be delivered to my home address?
We can deliver the kit to your work address or your PO box if that is more convenient for you. Our online forms will ask you for your delivery preferences.
What if I don’t qualify for Medicare? Can I still book in?
Yes, you can book in as a private patient. Your total non-refundable out-of-pocket expense will be $523.70. This is at least $100 cheaper than our competitors.
